Project control is a professional skill
Projects will achieve their goal if they add value to the organisation. Focus on the advantages and threats, stay in control of the costs and learn from the experiences of the past.
In order to keep in control of the projects, the correct management information is crucial. The current insight into the progress, costs and risks is of great importance. These activities are in the domain of project control. The project controller collects, integrates and analyses project information and gives insight and overview. Project control has to do with the form, the methodology and tackling of the individual project and in its underlying relationship. Not the leadership of the project itself. A project controller has no single influence on the content of the project. The project manager always remains accountable for the project.
The Project Controller has continuous contact with project managers through which there is a strong leadership component. The important element here is to maintain the uniformity of the project management. This uniformity is again necessary in order to be able to consolidate and analyse the various project reports.
